General S&T performance—Forward-Looking Innovation Taiwan has distinguished itself as a key contributor to the international scientific community by publ ishing 50,399 journal articles and conference papers. This robust output firmly establishes Taiwan's standing as a world leader in research and development, specifically in the cutting-edge fields of postquantum cryptography, organic strong luminescence, and biological sensors. On the intellectual property front, Taiwan secured a total of 2,298 domestic and international patents. Furthermore, 174 technologies were successfully introduced to the global market, while 2,008 technologies gained widespread domestic use. Additionally, 4,977 collaborative projects between academic institutions and industry members were actively promoted. Crucially, the S&T initiatives have had substantial commercial impact, driving an impressive increase in R&D and production investments, surpassing NT$417.2 billion. This surge in investment consequently led to the creation of 32,898 new employment positions and to wage increases in 122 companies. General S&T performance - Democratic Inclusiveness Aligned with its S&T policies, Taiwan nurtured a remarkable 107,752 individuals with interdisciplinary skills, significantly bolstering its research and industry competencies. Simultaneously, the country strategically recruited 3,398 talented individuals from international backgrounds, injecting fresh expertise and capital into various industries and academic institutions. With a commitment to comprehensive talent development, special emphasis was placed on gender studies and the active participation of female researchers. Over the course of the year, 41 scientific research projects integrated gender perspectives, featuring the active participation of 6,306 female researchers. Efforts were also made to align scientific advances with social needs. Funding was designated for research and practical applications aimed at enhancing scientific and technological literacy within the humanities. These efforts centered on promoting research and courses that are cross-disciplinary and socially relevant. X
