Forge Ahead: With Purpose, Plan, and Persistence.
運用AI增強學習分析 推動教育數位轉型與創新永續
My research agenda is situated on advancing the technology and application of AI-enhanced learning analytics (LA) to empower students and teachers in their learning and instructional practices. I conduct transdisciplinary research combining conventional digital learning and computational strategies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Generative AI, and Social Network Analysis (SNA) to extract meaningful findings out of tons of multimodal data and aid decision making with theoretical and practical advances. Using the AI-enhanced LA techniques, I investigate learners' diverse behaviors, capture their learning progress, and facilitate their cognitive and social-emotional development in the digital age. For teachers and higher education professionals, I design theory-driven and data-evidenced innovative pedagogical approaches to facilitate their instructional decisions and professional development. My ongoing series of research in learning analytics holds the promise of revolutionizing education and fostering adaptability and precision in learning and teaching amidst our rapidly changing world.
Regarding significant contributions to society, I am devoted to developing analytical and computational techniques to digitally transform our K-12 educational system into a more accessible and effective platform to promote student equity and diversity. I currently serve as Co-PI for two national and international projects funded by the Ministry of Education, including 1) International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS Taiwan) and 2) Educational Big Data. I am the PI of an Integrated Research Empowerment Project across three National Science and Technology Council disciplines, including Information and Computer Education, Science Education, and Education, to leverage inter- and trans-disciplinary research with pioneering techniques. Additionally, I am the Co-PI for Taiwan PISA 2015 and the project consultant for PISA 2022 and 2025. My involvement in these national and international projects has facilitated disseminating the best practices in technology-enhanced teaching and learning, positioning me to help our society solve the most challenging sustainable challenges in the 21st century.
