透過凸分析和優化理論 實現無線通信大突破

I have published more than 240 technical papers (many with high citations and more than 5,800 times in total by Google-Scholar), including more than 85 journal papers (mostly in IEEE Trans. Signal Processing), more than 140 peer-reviewed conference papers in

(1)MIMO Communications and Networking for 4G, 5G and Beyond.

(2)Blind Source Separation: (a) hyperspectral unmixing in remote sensing to identify the materials and their composition in hyperspectral scenes with the observed hyperspectral data; (b) biomedical image analysis.

I have published 3 book chapters, and 2 books, including a recent textbook, Convex Optimization for Signal Processing and Communications from Fundamentals to Applications, CRC Press, 2017 (which has been popularly used in a series of invited intensive (2-week or 3-week) short courses at the top-ranking 10 universities in Mainland China since 2010 before its publication).

I received 2018 IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Paper Award, entitled “Outage Constrained Robust Transmit Optimization for Multiuser MISO Downlinks: Tractable Approximations by Conic Optimization,” IEEE Tran. Signal Processing, vol. 62, no. 21, Nov. 2014, which is an exceptional contribution in the international communications and signal processing research communities. I was elevated as 2020 IEEE Fellow for contributions to convex analysis and optimization for blind source separation.

得獎感言

The convex analysis and optimization has been beautifully applied to the wireless communications and big data analysis including hyperspectral and biomedical image analysis. I am lucky to learn, and train talented, highly motivated master/PhD students; we jointly accomplished original research results in these areas at National Tsing Hua university, via international collaborations over the last 2 decades, thereby leading to the global recognition of our contributions. I enjoyed the work flow of learning, teaching, research exploration every day, and especially the excitement as new findings and/or solutions to mathematically formulated engineering problems were discovered via persistent efforts along with insightful physical meanings behind.
